High School to University Scholarship Program

According to the most recent Open Doors Report, nearly one million international students are currently attending university in the United States. Despite increasing competition from the UK and Australia for international student enrollments, the U.S. continues to be the gold standard when it comes to a study destination for international students interested in completing an undergraduate or graduate degree abroad.

Despite nearly 10% annual growth rates in the number of international students attending U.S. universities, a majority of international students, especially at the undergraduate level, are paying non-resident tuition rates.

At most universities, these rates are more than triple that of resident tuition making undergraduate studies in the U.S. cost prohibitive for a vast majority of highly qualified and motivated international students.

However, special legislation passed within the State of New Mexico allows for international students that have successfully completed their 12th grade year of high school within New Mexico, and that were issued a high school diploma upon completion of their studies, are allowed to attend one of New Mexico’s universities at resident tuition rates.

The combination of resident tuition rates is very rare in the United States—especially for undergraduate students—making the New Mexico High School to University Pathway Scholarship Program an obvious choice for international students and their families that are looking for an affordable way to earn a Bachelors degree in the United States.

Graduates of the program will attend New Mexico State University upon completion of their 12th grade year and issuance of a high school diploma. The information below shows the annual cost of attendance at New Mexico State University for academic year 2017-2018.
